Japan Authorises Outdoor Use of 920 MHz Beam WPT

Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has published regulatory amendments permitting the outdoor use of 920 MHz beam wireless power transfer systems, subject to the applicable technical and operational requirements.

Outdoor operation creates new opportunities for powering sensors, IoT devices, monitoring equipment, and other low-power technologies in locations where cables and frequent battery replacement are impractical.
